Can Survivor Filter products be used in the winter?Updated a year ago
Yes! As a Canadian owned company, we have experience in this area.In fact, we even made an instructional video on how to take care of our filters in the winter.
As a note of caution, any portable water filter is going to have the risk of damage in sub-zero temperatures when being used in the winter and water isn't completely dry before storing. The reason is that the water expands and if it is left inside the filter and freezes, it will also expand the internal filter components and cause issues. However, if you ensure that the filters are completely free of water, then the freezing risk is much lower.
